Sales of coloured gem engagement rings are on the up as the ‘Kate effect’ sweeps across Manchester, reveals leading jewellery retailer Hancocks.
Last year, the world celebrated as Kate Middleton walked down the aisle with a dazzling oval blue 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring on her finger, passed down to Prince William by his late mother Princess Diana.
Hancocks has since seen an increase in interest from brides-to-be wanting coloured gems for their engagement stone, like this three stone sapphire and diamond ring set in platinum, inspired by the future Queen of England.
Comments Steve Highton of Hancocks; “Following the wedding last year, Hancocks has seen a marked rise in interest for our bespoke coloured gem collection. Kate’s ring is classic in cut yet contemporary in style so offers the perfect balance for future brides wanting a ring with a difference.
“As leading diamond experts, we expect to see this regal trend continue as we celebrate the Royal Jubilee this year. We offer a wide range of bespoke engagement rings so our customers can feel like a Princess on their own big day.”
